Consistency... Your brand and your message MATTER! And consistency is major key alert (shout out DJ Khaled). Don't get me wrong, it's something that many people struggle with, especially on social media, myself included. Where do I find the time? How can I automate? Do people actually care? Will I actually get traffic from this post? These are all questions that run through our minds when trying to wrap our heads around posting once, twice, three times a day.
Take me for example, I'm a mom of 2 toddlers who runs a Consulting & Coaching business #HylandConsultingLLC. Pretty much every picture on my phone or on my camera is of my kids, that's just my stage of life. So, I consistently use it to it's full advantage (people are much more apt to like a pic of a cute kid, just sayin🤷🏼). They are also a huge part of my WHY (why I started my business, why I work hard, etc.). So why not? Do babies have anything to do with Marketing Strategy? No. Do stories of their shenanigans compared to Marketing Strategy work? Sometimes. Do I shamelessly and consistently use them to get likes on my business posts? Yes. (LOL)
The key things to take from this post are:
1. Post, write, video, whatever is in your wheelhouse and be consistent in your message. Try to block off a certain time once a week to manage a weeks worth of content. I like to take a half hour on Sunday afternoon and plan my IG and FB posts and set them to automate. That way, I don't have to think about it again until the following Sunday.
2. Be real. People will be able smell a fake a mile away. Do you, Boo! Work with what you got, don't try to be someone you're not.
Bonus Tip: Stock up on pictures and videos when inspiration hits. You have NO IDEA how many times I'm scrambling for visual content that is usable and not just one of the black, blurry or half faced pictures that Flynn and Roman have mysteriously taken on my phone.
