What To Do If You Have Comparison Syndrome + What To Do If You Think The Market Is Too Saturated

Updated: May 15

Have you ever thought, “I’ll never reach that level of success,” “They are so much better at that than me,” or “I’d never be able to do that.”

I feel like we all go through seasons of doubt; questioning what our purpose is or not finding anything special enough about ourselves to even consider starting a side hustle or business, going after that job or promotion, taking that stand, being the first in your family, etc. etc. into infinity and beyond. But, let me tell you something: You will ALWAYS find excuses. Whether they are warranted or not makes no difference. They are excuses. They are simply things that you think are standing in the way of your success. Do not be dismayed, we all have them.

Consider the type of mindset that you have when you have these thoughts. Do a little mental dissection to bring some of these thoughts to the forefront. Some feelings that come to mind are: downtrodden, negative, self-deprecating, comparing to others, not seeing success or forward movement… Look, I get it. I’ve been there, everyone reading this HAS BEEN THERE. BUT, you have a way out.

Now that we have that out of the way…

Mindset.

Whatever your beliefs, you are here, you were created, you have a purpose.

You may be thinking “Yeah, yeah I’ve heard that all before,” or “Come on, don’t give me this hocus pocus mindset stuff.”

But, level with me for a second. Look at your palm. Look at your fingertips. All 10 of your fingertips are unique. No one has them. No one ever will. What’s to say that your gifts, your superpowers, you aren’t as unique? NOTHING and NO ONE.

If you look at your business or your ideas as “the market is too saturated” or “so many people are doing this” you will NEVER realize your full potential. You will NEVER bring your own flavor to the world, you will NEVER start a business that brings the world YOU.

So, every time you think that you are inadequate, that you don’t matter, that everyone can do “it” better than you… look at your fingertips.
